Make sure she is reliable- There is nothing worse than a flake! She may be swamped with work or personal issues and may not be able to take on the responsibility of being your bridesmaid. Don’t fret, she could be a part of your wedding in other ways, such as greeting guests as they arrive or motivating the crowd to get on the dance floor.
She should be supportive of your union – You don’t want a person in your wedding that despises your future husband.
Exclude those that create drama – We all have at least one girlfriend that is known for drama, we love them but, the last thing you need during the wedding
process is DRAMA
She should be financially able to be your bridesmaid – I know this is a touchy subject but, it can get expensive, a bridesmaid is typically required to pay for her own dress, shoes and accessories, help pay for the bridal shower and bachelorette parties, and contribute to a gift for the bride and groom.
Do not choose out of obligation! – Just because she chose you as her bridesmaid, do not feel compelled to choose her. Choose people who want to be in your wedding and that you want in your wedding. Don’t let your mom guilt you into choosing one of your long lost cousin’s.
Hopefully these tips will help you choose the right bridesmaids to help get you down the aisle stress free!
